Show your support to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Join us for a good time and a RACE for the children!
A $10 donation will be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital from each adult ticket sale.

Registration

$75 includes entry to the skippers’ social on Friday night, 1 ticket for the Low Country Boil & All-American Picnic or 2 tickets for traditional cook-out fare at the Saturday night post-race party and a novelty item. Additional tickets will be available at the door: Low Country Boil & All-American Picnic - $40 each, Traditional Cook-Out - $20 each. Kids under 6 are free; under 12 are $10.

Entries

Due by July 29, 2009. Entries received by July 1 will be eligible for a special prize drawing to be held at the skippers’ meeting. Skippers' Meeting

Check-In @ 1830 hours - Skippers’ Meeting @ 1900 hours on Friday, July 31, 2009, at Bay Meeting: Point Marina • 9500 30th Bay St. • Norfolk, Virginia. Captains’ Social immediately following.

Classes

PHRF A, B, C, N (single headsail only), as well as Cruising (single headsail only), and beach cat (different venue – contact Waldo Rodriguez - This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it for details). The Cruising class is open to all boats that do not have a valid PHRF rating and/or skippers who race only occasionally. A courtesy rating shall be assigned by the race committee, if needed, and shall not be subject to redress.

Courses

Convenient for skippers from Hampton, Willoughby, and Little Creek, courses will start and end off Ocean View Fishing Pier and consist of drop marks and government marks. Further course information and mark locations will be available in the Sailing Instructions and at the Skippers’ Meeting.

Time

First Flag = 1030 hours

Rules

Races will be governed by the USSA Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-20012, the Sailing Instructions, and this Notice of Race.

Results

Will be posted at www.broadbaysailing.org and at the post-race party.

Awards/Social

Post-race party options include a veritable seafood festival including fried fish, scallops, clams, crab cakes, shrimp, or traditional cook-out fare including BBQ, hamburgers, and hotdogs. Awards will be presented to the top 3 boats in each class as well as awards for top PHRF boat, top Cruising boat, and for the best time as re-calculated using donation-adjusted ratings. The awards ceremony will be Saturday evening at 1845 hours at the post-race party at Bay Point Marina.
